Countermarks of Hadrian
« on: October 07, 2018, 06:33:33 am »
Dear board members,

Countermarks of Hadrian

I am looking for scans or images of coins (with references) that have been published in Howgego, "Greek imperial countermarks".

Thanks for your time.

I am specifically looking for any oval countermarks depicting Hadrian, published in Howgego or anywhere else.

Are you looking for plate coins or just for published types of countermarks, like this?

Any published or plate coin countermarks depicting the laureate bust of Hadrian within oval incuse. I am trying to find a match for a countermark that will be in a forthcoming corpus.

Thanks

This is similar to the specimen image, but as a round countermark. See image below.

The countermark is on a civic coin of Arados and minted during Domitian´s reign.
