The classical period Egypt exhibition at the Getty Art Museum in LA will run through September 9.  A real spectacle with dozens and dozens of astonishing artifacts on loan from a "who's who" of famous museums around the world - all in one place.  There are pieces from The Louvre, British Museum, Berlin Museum, Kunsthistorisches Museum of Vienna, Vatican Museum, Pompeii, and many other prestigious collections that you'd spend a lifetime seeing separately.  You have about 2 weeks left to take in this amazing exhibition entitled 'Beyond The Nile', which is specifically about Egypt in the Greek and Roman periods ca 300BC to 300AD, with a few other bits that add to the historical narrative.  And yes, there are some amazing coins including a unique portrait tetradrachm of Ptolemy VI, a rare silver portrait tetradrachm of Cleopatra VII, and lots (lots !) of fantastic sculptures like the ones in the pictures below.  The Getty is open 10AM to 5:30PM Tues - Thurs and until 9PM on Friday and Saturday.  Closed Mondays. I went to this exhibition *twice* because there was so much to take in.  One image here is a Roman period bust of Isis with a dove spread on the top of her head and the other is a portrait sculpture of Ptolemy VIII with a marble bust of Cleopatra VII in the background.  This is just a tip of the iceberg.  You won't be disappointed.  And admission is *free*, plus the Getty has lots and lots of other art treasures you can enjoy as well.
