An unidentified ancient indian coin
« on: August 27, 2018, 05:43:10 am »
I got a rectangle coin as the pictures show. It seems that the coin was from ancient india but I still can not identify it, so I come for help.
For me, the obverse and reverse of the coin both shows a figure of a king or a god, but I can't go any further. Could anyone know something about the location and time of the coin?
Best regards.

Hi River ... cool example (congrats)

Ummm, could it be a "portion" of a Kushan coin? ... perhaps the coin was cut-up into smaller denominations? (hey, I'm not even close to being an expert)

Incredible idea! If so, it will be a interesting sample to show the currency circulation of Kushan. I will do more searching on this way. Thank you!
