Irregularly shaped tesserae
« on: June 06, 2018, 06:38:56 pm »
What is the most acceptable way to describe the length and width of a very small lead tessera with irregular dimensions.  A rectangle is pretty easy, but what happens when the image is not squared to it?  I usually try to measure along the square axes, but sometimes go corner to corner and note it as a diagonal measurement.  Any ideas or opinions would be appreciated.
