 Ave!

Ring, Roman, Walking Bird Intaglio, ca. 2nd-3rd Cent

Copper alloy; 7.83gm, Ring size 8

Con/ Cleaned and certainly wearable.

Seller's Note/ Sheri says she thinks it looks like a flamingo out for a stroll under the stars!
Just sharing for all of us to enjoy.

Best to all,

Kevin

Do you remember the dodo from the very old Looney Toones cartoon Porky in Wackyland?  No politically correct but on youtube.

Looks like it!

Ave!

Here is another similar image of the same "Walking Bird" intaglio that arrived the other day.

Copper alloy; 4.3gm, Ring size 9 1/2

I don't beleive in coincedes, so this motif had to have meant something to the ancients, but no clue as to what?

Any thoughts?

Best,

Kevin

This mint is very useful, in the North Balkan and Hungary in the medieval time c. IX-XII. centuries.
