Gordian III; Pamphylia Aspendos

AE29; 13.53 g; 12h

Obverse: AV KAI MAP AN ΓOPΔIANOC CEBA
Laureate, draped, bust right. Cmk Howgego 333*
Reverse: ACП[ENΔIΩN]
Eurystheus (?) holding a spear, seated left on pile of rocks; on the left, standing right, Heracles nude, a lion's skin over his shoulders; on the right, standing left, a nude male figure (Iolaos?) leaning on a spear, right foot on rocks, below, zebu lying to the right.
Ref: 1) SNG Paris-Pamphylia 187; 2) SNG von Aulock 4595;
Notes: *Howgego 333: Eagle standing facing, head right; wings spread. cf von Aulock coin for same cmk.

I like the interesting mythological reverse.

I have an Aspendos coin that was issued by Augustus (first coin):
