« on: March 11, 2018, 06:48:53 pm »
This little metal coin seal or token unknown  type was found in thompsonville illinois in creek while rock hunting for arrowheads coin is magnetic round one side edges hanging off back side crude as if a pointed but round image on coin area appears to be a boat a man aboard with arm up round of coin part of ship need help identifying this seems similar to a roman locks seal but found in southern illinois ? I know nothing of old coins but do know there are seals tokens and other diff shaped coins I hunt arrowheads but often find coin shaped pieces again thank you

It looks like a seal for a crate or sack.  They are common in lead.  But yours seems to be iron.  An old railway freight item???
