How do you feel about this Quinarius?

[REMOVED BY ADMIN]

especially when compared with this one

They are not the same, but disturbingly close.

Hats off to celator specialized for these quinarii

The obverse of eBay coin has more detailed hair and beard than the first one, but lost all details on top of the lion paw below portrait.

And letters are slightly different notice how tilted is letter B. and all letters are full and round.

On the reverse all fine details from figures are gone, notice how third boy lost object from his hand and his raised hand is now much bigger, and generally all body parts are on steroids and lettering is slightly different.

I wonder if someone used first presumably original coin as a seed for second one, and slightly enhanced appearance or am I seeing ghosts? But craftsmanship to do something like that is making my theory weak.

Hi, siscia_avg, nice to hear you again,

I perceive your hesitation about these coins.

I'm a bit skeptical about these coins, but that's just a hunch.  ???

Both coins are obvious forgeries from from modern dies. I am rather surprised an auction house was fooled by one of them.

I told them about this and linked to the eBay coin in my email, albeit I think I'm not the only one to have reported it.

They also have a fake Cleopatra denarius and a Theodosius siliqua for sale. Not very trustworthy :(

Ah, I just saw that the Cleopatra and Theodosius have been withdrawn.

The story continues, now in gold, allegedly... Hilarious.

Spotted on German ebay.
