Hello everyone i do love my Antioch Tetras and when this one was very "evil" put in front of me by one of the coin members from the local Coin Union/Club, well you know..  ::) I hope you like it.  :)

SYRIA. Seleucis and Pieria. Antioch. Gordian III (238 - 244).
Obv: AYTOK K M ANT ΓOPΔIANOC CEB.
Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust right.
Rev: ΔHMAPX EΞOYCIAC.
Eagle standing facing, head left, wreath in beak.

Great coin Kim!

From one of my favourite mints.

I am (slowly) collecting these tetradrachms. I have several from different emperors but none of Gordian III. The reverse of these types reminds me of a Liberty dollar, one of the first non-Australian coins I ever owned when I started collecting coins at a very young age.
