Scarabs ... never quite sure if I can sell 'em, or not?

Either way, here are a couple of my cool scarab examples (yah, I'm a fan of the animal types)

2nd Intermediate Period Steatite scarab
Circa 1650-1550 BC
Diameter: 21 x 15 mm
Obverse: Base engraved with two crocodiles back-to-back. Intact, once glazed, pierced for mounting.
From the David Hendin Collection

2nd Intermediate Period Steatite scarab
Circa 1650-1550 BC
Diameter: 23 x 16 mm
Obverse: Base engraved with an antelope walking right; palm branches in field. A few minor chips and cracks, otherwise intact, part of greenish-brown glaze remaining, pierced for mounting.
From the David Hendin Collection

Yah, I am in the process of selling some of my ancient coins, but I wasn't sure if the coin-police would crack-down on me trying to sell my scarab examples (does anybody know the current rules for trying to sell these things?) ... just curious

thanks, in advance

Oh, and "please" feel free to post any of your scarab examples (I love seeing other people's stuff)

cheers

I've picked up over a hundred scarabs over the years, but having sold a
few I probably only have about eighty or so left (. . make me an offer!!!).

One of my favourites is currently on my VCoins site and although it has a
small chip, it just has so much character to it (below). To my eye at least!
It came with the gold mount (as shown) which I assumed to be a fairly
modern addition, but I have since seen other examples with similar mounts
that have been said to be contemporary. That is one thing that I have not
had confirmed either way, and would like to find out more - one day.

There are no real problems selling them, a couple of major coin firms have
sold a large number of them both recently and over the years. However, there
may be some countries that could have new laws about importing them which
should be checked out beforehand.
No one I have sold to has ever had any problems, and there really should
not be any, but it is always good to be certain for each individual case.
All the best,

Walter

Awesome ... Walter, thanks for the info (I will tell my guy to add the scarabs to the other coin stock)

You rock (thanks for the quick response) ... oh, and that's a very cool scarab example (thanks for sharing)

Cheers
