I've picked up over a hundred
scarabs over the years, but having sold a
few I probably only have about eighty or so left
(. . make me an offer!!!).
One of my favourites is currently on my
VCoins site and although it has a
small chip, it just has so much character to it (below). To my eye at least!
It came with the gold mount (as shown) which I assumed to be a fairly
modern addition, but I have since seen other examples with similar mounts
that have been said to be
contemporary. That is one thing that I have not
had confirmed either way, and would like to find out more - one day.
There are no real problems
selling them, a couple of major coin firms have
sold a large number of them both recently and over the years. However, there
may be some countries that could have new laws about importing them which
should be checked out beforehand.
No one I have sold to has ever
had any problems, and there really should
not be any, but it is always
good to be certain for each individual case.
