Bithynia - Gordian III or Severus Alexander?
« on: December 02, 2017, 10:55:10 pm »
Dear Board

The coin below was sold with an attribution as being Severus Alexander, Bthynia, Nicaea.

I think it is actually Gordian III, and I am leaning towards Juliopolis rather than Nicaea. Am I on the right track?

Yes, Gordian III from Juliopolis.  Here's one for comparison:

Rec Gen 56.
