Curious obverse legend on RIC VI Siscia 135a - type fake:

CONSTANTIVS NOB C AVG.

Wrong metal, weigh c. 21 gram.

Why would anyone make a coin with such an obviously fake obverse legend? It's like the Silver Jubilee coin of Elizabeth II dated 1875 or some such someone posted here a few years ago. Crazy.

The ways of counterfeiters are beyond understanding.  The first fake I published has the obverse of a denarius of Claudius and a reverse from the revolutionary years 68-69.  Totally weird.
