SICILY, SYRACUSE Æ HEMILITRON – 6 ONKIA
DATE: 357-344 BC
SIZE: 17.2 MM
WEIGHT: 2.57 GRAMS
Obverse: Female head left (Arethusa), with hair in sphendone, olive sprig behind
Reverse: Dolphin leaping right above scallop shell, ÓYPA below dolphin
Attribution: BMC 301
Other: very cool green patina! … amazing scallop and dolphin reverse

Ummm wow, May has been a stellar month for this guy ... I sold 5 more coins today!! (and they're all fairly sweet ones!!)

=> here is today's first total winna-winna ... yah, these early cast-coins are among the very oldest AE coins "ever"

Enjoy this gorgeous example (I haven't seen many/any better than this ... oh, but "please" post all of your sweet examples ... I love being mistaken)

=> a gorgeous Gallienus example with a deadly counter-mark (pretty sweet style, eh?)

PAMPHYLIA, Side. Gallienus, Æ 11 Assarion
253-268 AD
Diameter: 30 mm
Weight: 14.25 grams
Obverse: Laureate and draped bust right above eagle standing right, with wings spread, holding wreath in beak; IA obliterated by c/m of Є within circular incuse
Reverse: Athena standing facing, head right, holding spear and [thunderbolt], with shield at side; pomegranate to left
Reference: SNG France –; BMC 104; for c/m: Howgego 805
Other: 6h … simply stunning example of the type ... sweet style and crisp c/m (a total winner)

Obverse: Head of Alexander as Herakles in Nemean lion scalp headdress to right
Reverse: Alexander between club and bow with bow case and quiver, cluster of grapes and monogram above
Other: A handsome coin, nicely centered with a pretty patina

Hmmm? ... cluster of grapes, or maybe an acorn? (what do ya think?)
