Great patina on the Claudius.  This type has so many official dies and local variations and the desert patina makes it easier to see the highlights.
Thanks for posting.

(And, to riff on Blayne's idea, perhaps it is time for a dry white wine from Gaul .... what's this I have?  Chenin blanc?  Ok.....)

Thanks for your concern, Peter Murphy (Ancient Aussie) .... yes, I am feeling okay lately (my lungs are still screwed-up, but that is certainly not stopping my vino consumption)

 ;)

=> oh, and I hope that you are doing well

Enodia ... I saw what you did there (Peter Murphy being the lead singer from Bauhaus)

Hi "AA" ... Peter Murphy

 ;)

Ummm, well at least they've given me the all-clear once again on the cancer-thingy, but for some reason I have some new, lousy, lung-fibrosis thing going-on (yah, they think it's "probably" somehow related to my 3 x times cancer re-occurrence and all of the drugs ... but either way, it is a bit of a side-swipe to my normal outdoor-athletic-lifestyle ... oh well, I'll adapt to my "new normal')

Thanks again

Hey, and I also have a new gallery addition ... gawd, this is the first April addition (it's been a bit of a slow month, eh?)

Oh well ...

Here it is => a classic archaic winna-winna!

MACEDON, Akanthos AR Tetrobol
Circa 470-390 BC
Diameter: 16mm
Weight: 2.31 grams
Obverse: Forepart of bull left, head right; two laurel branches above
Reverse: Quadripartite incuse square with granulated recesses
Reference: SNG ANS 35
Other: Good VF ... great centering and a sweet overall example

Is it just me, or does the bull's head seem to be folded over his body?

Thanks for all of the comments, gang

quadrans => wow, that example is awesome! ... yup, that's a total winner (a wee bit sweeter than my humble example)

EB => yah, my collecting tastes are all over the place (it's fun to investigate side-avenue interests and scamper-down rabbit-holes to chase new types every now and then, eh?)

Happy Sunday!
