I thought that I'd change it up a bit today and show a couple of my Siliqua examples (Siliquae?) ...  both examples are from the same time period and both also show incredibly cool flow lines! (yummy-yummy, visually, eh?)

Magnus Maximus. AR Siliqua
Treveri (Trier) mint
AD 383-388
Diameter: 17 mm
Weight: 1.96 grams
Obverse: Pearl-diademed, draped, and cuirassed bust right
Reverse: Constantinopolis seated facing, head left, on throne, holding globe and scepter
Reference: TRPS. RIC IX 84b.1 var. (scepter instead of spear); RSC 20†a var. (same)
Other: 12h … toned and cool flow-lines

Arcadius, AR Siliqua
Quinquennalia issue, Mediolanum (Milan) mint
383-408 AD
Struck AD 388
Diameter: 17 mm
Weight: 1.43 grams
Obverse: Pearl-diademed, draped, and cuirassed bust right
Reverse: VOT V/MVLT X in four lines within wreath
Reference: MDPS. RIC IX 13; Ulrich-Bansa, Moneta, 23; RSC 27B
Other: 12h … sweet flow-lines with iridescent toning
From the D. Fagan Collection, purchased from Edward J. Waddell

Hi Steve,

Great coins, as always.

I bought this one recently. It is a hoard coin.
I had always wanted a siliqua and I could not resist this one for a number of reasons.

Julian II; Rome, Lugdunum (Lyon) mint, 1st officina; AR Siliqua;  Silver; struck 361 AD; Obverse: FL CL IVLIA NVS P P AVG, pearl-diademed, draped, and cuirassed bust right; Reverse: VOT/X/MVLT/XX in four lines within wreath; PLVG, in exergue; (17.22mm, 2.05g, 7h); Pedigreed: from the 1887 East Harptree, Somerset Hoard (IRBCH 1424), ex Classical Numismatic Group eAuction 407 (11 October 2017), Lot 608; References: RIC VIII (Lyons) 233; Lyon 276; RSC V 146b; Cohen 146; Voetter 3

Hmmm, what should I choose this morning?

Ummm, hey maybe these artistic "shapes" ... or maybe they are supposed to represent flowers, or stars?

Either way, they're pretty cool, so they're gonna be today's thing

It's Saturday night and I'm a bit bored, so here is another sweet coin-avenue to follow

=> "bees"

Again, it'd be great if you wanted to post any bees from your collections

Oh, and here is a fake bee (after we found a couple of fake examples, the seller gave me my money back)

too bad (I really liked the look of this coin ... too good to be true, I guess, eh?)

Holy Cow Steve (i'm so sorry, someone had to do it).

Great bull set. Who is the little dwarf on the Ebusus coin meant to be?
