Here is another cool coin from Alexandria ... Saloninus

I think it is sooo cool when they make the young emperor's bust look like a wee lil' baby, eh? (tucked "safely" in the bottom of the  coin's reverse) ... very sad tale associated with the little guy

 

... anyway ...

This is one of my favourite Roman Coins ...

Other: 12h … VF, even brown surfaces. Rare

Here are a couple of pretty cool coin-types for you guys ... Pb tesserae (yup, little lead babies)

Obverse: Head of Serapis right, wearing calathus; uncertain object before
Reverse: Griffin seated right, resting right paw on wheel

Other: 5h … even gray patina with a spot of green, minor surface cracking

ASIA MINOR, Uncertain (Ionia?). PB Tessera
1st-3rd centuries AD
Diameter: 14 mm

Reverse: Blank
Reference: Gülbay & Kireç
Other: sweet grayish-brown surfaces

=> this is my only coin with a "blank" ... kinda cool, eh?

Hey Jay & Peter, thanks for the consistent coin comments (I'm super glad to hear that my coins still have some cool on-lookers)

... yes, I'm fairly sure that this is my only "ant" ... I have a few bees & flies, but this is probably the only example of a mighty ant? (and luckily, it is very obviously an ant, rather than a bee or fly ... it is very cool ... if you want it, then send me an e-mail/PM and maybe we can figure-out some sort of trade?)

Oh, where are my manors? => "please" feel free to post any of your "ant" examples (of any type => I love seeing other people's coins) ... thanks again for your comments

Hey, here is a pretty nice example of mine ... yup, I always like the Carthage horse types (very cool coin-fabric)

Reverse: Horse’s head right; palm tree before, pellet below
