Gallienus Billon Antoninianus
« on: October 23, 2017, 09:42:47 pm »
Hi Guys,

Any of you know a method to clean this billon Antoninianus of Gallienus? Basically it would be getting rid of those green incrustations.
Would it be pitted underneath ???

Thanks for your help,
LuisB

It should be cleaned as if bronze.

I would do distilled water soaks and cut-down toothbrush to get rid of the dirt.  Then see the state of the green encrustations.  They could be easy to "pop" off or could be covering pits.  Hard to tell at this stage / thie photo.
