LESBOS, Mytilene. EL Hekte – Sixth Stater
Circa 478-455 BC
Diameter: 10 mm
Weight: 2.48 grams
Obverse: Ram’s head right
Reverse: Incuse bull’s head right
Reference: Bodenstedt Em. 27; HGC 6, 954

I like the quasi-edge shot. I've never seen or handled one of these coins before, so I find it interesting to see how thick the relief is.

My first electrum arrived this week. I just photographed it last night together with all recent arrivals. I am almost ashamed to post it here because it does not deserve to be adjacent those fine examples you posted. However, I will summon the courage and do so when I get home.

Lesbos, Mytilene. Ca. 454-428/7 B.C. EL hekte (10 mm, 2.50 g, 12 h). Forepart of boar right / Head of lion right in linear square within incuse square. Bodenstedt 41; HGC 6, 967. Good fine
