Help with Id on Trachy.
« on: October 15, 2017, 10:22:23 pm »
I don't have exact size or weight with me but I took a pic before I left home. I went through wildwinds with no  match. I would say around 20mm

I am very curios who is the saint or co emperor crowning the ruler, he seems to be holding a gl.cr too so I would guess co-emperor.

I must have got it some years ago, I have no recollection in buying it.

Possibly the very elusive type SBCV 2357A of Andronicus II, reported by Dochev from Turnovo (Dochev 1992 Pl. XLVI, 3; Pl. 17,2).
What the emperor holds in his left hand is unclear - it seems at first sight to be a globus cruciger here, but Dochev shows an akakia.
The military saint on the right is probably holding a sword, point down.
