Apparently a large bronze medallion of Commodus, 192 AD, Cohen 572, with drawing.

Looks recently dug up; do you know where it was found? Weight and size would also be useful.

It looks like someone has already "hacked" and "scratched" at it with a tool of some
sort. Have a look at the chest area of Commodus, his face, some of the lettering and
areas of the reverse fields. There are apparent scrapes to all of these surfaces.

May I suggest that no more of this scraping be done to this coin, and if anyone feels
the need to clean it *at all*, then they have it looked at by a professional. The risk of
permanent damage or destruction is real, and should best be avoided.

I hope this item can be more properly preserved, without further damage.
