artemisia with bow
« on: August 09, 2017, 04:23:38 pm »
provincia asia minor?
obverse bust of Julia Domna? i can barely read a couple of Λ
on the reverse Artemis holding  bow with left and arrow? with right hand. ive seen lot of specimen in which A. was using the bow, instead in this type she seems to be less agressive: no arrow ready to be throwing instead the arrow seems to be place in the hand. At her feet perhaps a hound? legend it ends as IH - NΩ(N)

Vladimir appears to be correct; judging from Aulock's photo, could be an obv. die match for the previously unique Berlin coin.

Hi,
Unfortunately I don't see this coin in the database of the Berlin State Museums. You could contact them by e-mail: http://www.smb.museum/en/museums-institutions/muenzkabinett/about-us/point-of-contact-for-research-and-scholarly-inquiries.html
Good luck!
