Yup, looks like the Coin-Band is breaking-up ... but I wanted to post my last firecracker

I love this coin ... it fits so well into its awesome/weird flan ...

THESSALY, Pharsalos. AR Drachm
Late 5th-mid 4th century BC
Diameter: 18 mm
Weight: 5.87 grams
Obverse: Helmeted head of Athena right; TH to left
Reverse: Φ-A-[P-Σ] (partially retrograde), Thessalian cavalryman on horse rearing right, holding goad; T below; all within incuse square
Reference: BCD Thessaly I –; BCD Thessaly II 639; HGC 4, 624
Other:  12h … VF, toned

Thanks for sharing. I love coins from Thessaly. They really capture the spirit of horses.

Here is one of my favourites, also ex BCD.
I'd like to own one of these in a higher grade some day.

What is with so many coins from Thessaly having the reticulated finish?

Is there something about the soil or hoard conditions there?
