I’m researching the
lion and
bull coinage of Croesus for an upcoming presentation. The data seems to support the coinage beginning under Croesus and continuing into
Persian rule until the archer
type daric and
siglos were introduced by Darius.
Martin Price apparently favored an alternative view that the entirety of the
lion and
bull coinage was issued by the Persians. I would like to better understand
Price’s reasoning, even if outdated. Can anyone provide a pdf of
his article?
