ID Help - Ancient Greek Maybe?
« on: July 02, 2017, 12:44:16 pm »
Hi All,

Really need some help identifying what I think is an ancient Greek coin.
Reverse seems to depict an eagle or hawk? The Obverse depicts a bust of some kind but  to my eye is indistinguishable.
Haven't had any experience with ancient Greeks so not even sure where to start

Ptolemaic Bronze coin from the mint of Tyre.
O: Zeus R: Eagle on Thunderbolt, club to l.

Perhaps Ptolemy II or III? AE Hemiobol.
