ID Help : Gallienus?
« on: June 10, 2017, 05:12:51 am »
Hi Guys,

I'm almost certain that this coin is a Gallienus.
On the Obverse i can make out the *MVS*AVG.
Not sure I'm reading that letter correctly though.
Went through the Encyclopedia of Roman Coins II and this coin looks very much like one of the examples of a Gallienus coins displayed.

3.17 grams
~2.5cm

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Some  hints for your search:

Obverse legend is: IMP C M A MAXIMIANVS PF AVG

Reverse legend: CONCORDIA MILITVM

KΔ, Cyzicus mint

Wow thank you Shanxi,

So looks like this one is a Maximianus I (Heclues).

Thank you very much for the help

Yes, Maximianus Herculius,

and on the reverse you see the Emperor standing right receiving Victory on globe from Jupiter, standing left and holding sceptre.
