Hello Young,

I believe that your coin is a denaro of James I (1285-1296) or Frederick III (1296-1337), minted at Messina.  I am basing this on the pellets in each quarter of the cross.  The obverse should feature a crowned head left and a legend either  :plus:IAC DEI GRA (for James) or  :plus:FRI T DEI GRA (for Frederick).  The reverse features a cross with pellet in each quarter and the legend  :plus:REX SICILIE.  Reference is MEC14 #770 (for James) or #782 (for Frederick).

Cheers,

David
