I have this Domitian / Minerva denarius. I'm not sure what to make of the obverse inscription
I can see arguments both ways and would like input from the more experienced collectors.

One reading could be
IMP CAES DOMIT AVG GERM P M TR P XII (with a heavy "mark" at the base of the neck
or the other way I read this is
IMP CAES DOMIT AVG GERM P M PR P XIII (with each successive I in the series of 3 "I"s being a little shorter in length

The reverse doesn't pose any questions for me but will list the inscription to assist as much as possible anyone answering this question.
IMP XXII COS XVI CENS P P P

Thanks
John

Hi John,

it does happen sometimes on Domitian denarii.

I would say TR P XIII, so RIC 764.
