Rev: Arabic writing in 3 lines

W: 4,88 gr

Nice coin.

It is an early Arabic issue using Byzantine obverse type.  Need an expert to tell you more.

Anyhow , all what I am saying is

This is not early type of Arab-Byzantine , the type of letter said it all.

On the other side of the coin all I can read is ;
Al Sultan Al Mu'azzam ( the great king )

In other words the title   Al Sultan Al Mu'azzam ( the great king )    , came to life during the last period ( the fall ) of the Abbassid regime.

Ah, so it is closer to the figural coins of the Artuqids and others, but using a Byzantine obverse.

I should have known.  The Byzantine obverse is way later than the early Islamic period......

To be fair , your theory still active and could be a possibility , maybe this coin was struck and re-struck at that era , then later reverse was cleared ,and re-struck , who knows. When I said not early , I meant the way the coin is right now.
I have seen Artuqui coins , you think right away that an adjusted Greek dies was used to struck it.
