ID Help : Late Roman?
« on: April 29, 2017, 06:20:43 am »
Hi There,

Purchased this coin from ebay as an unidentified coin.
To my untrained eye the bust almost looks like a Hardian.
Looks like partial VSN o B on the front?
On the back can make out an SA?

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Not Hadrian--fourth century--looks like Constantius II as Caesar from what I can read of the legend, but I am sure a specialist in the fourth century can give you a fuller, better answer.

Yup.  Spot on.  Constantius II as caesar.

Not sure you will be able to pull enough of the mint mark from the reverse to ever be able to figure out the mint.

Struck sometime between May 330 and early 336.
