To my eye this looks more like nude Apollo walking left with a bow, with an M and A flanking.
I agree. The bird probably is an
eagle and additionally
Apollo is holding something in
his right hand below the
eagle, perhaps some sort of vase.
But perhaps the A on the
reverse is a lambda.
The only city with MΛ I know is Blaundos in
Lydia which has on its early coinage MΛAYNΔEWN as ethnikon.
For MA I remember Masicytes in
Lycia. But I didn't find any coin similar to this one, and to my eyes the
style of the coin üpresented here is different from the coins of the Lycian League.
But besides of that there are a couple of other cities beginning with MA
.
So in effect I have no idea from which city this coin could be
.
