Titus Judea Capta denarius
« on: April 21, 2017, 07:43:36 pm »
Just added this one to my 12 Caesar's collection. I already had a Titus denarius but it was Titus as Caesar not as Augustus. I was told this coin was minted in the first week of Titus' rule as Augustus. It is RIC 1. though the coin is worn I really like the look of it and its historical significance.

I noticed before posting this message that Jay Grande also posted a nice  Titus Judea Capta issue.

I never would have purchased this coin but for the expertise of David Atherton. Thank you David.

Nice one!  These have a cool throwback reverse. Mine has the different obverse legend.  I think we all owe David a word of thanks!
