Strange Constantius IIPhoenix mint mark"
« on: February 18, 2017, 01:09:19 pm »
Hi folks:
The closest I can come to this is Constantius II, Siscia, ASIS•. RIC VIII 231.
However, the "A" preceding SIS•.appears to my old eyes to be a wreath or something. And no such symbol is shown for RIC VIII 231.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
PeteB

I think it is BSIS :dot: too.  But when you look closely it looks like there are some rays.  Might have been some sort of engraving error.

Yes, Shawn. The rays are quite distinct, as with a sun or star symbol or wreath.
Thanks for your opinions, folks.

I didn't notice the "Radiate B" at first. That is odd, but I still think a "B."
