An Australian!
Hmm, what can I do to
help you track down this reprobate?
I
had the same thing happen to me with some of the annotated
auction catalogues from the archives of Empire Coins. I loaned
them to a chap who collected high-end
sestertii and he wanted
to check a few possible provenances. No problem, I said, just
give them back when you are finished with them.
Months went by, and then I found out he sold a number of
his books to another dealer. Sure enough, in the boxes were *MY*
catalogues (and a less-than-helpful dealer).
I took some comfort in the knowledge that he later went to gaol
for crimes that should not be mentioned in polite circles, and he
lost
his medical licence. Come to think of it, I believe he may be
due for release some time soon. I'll have to check.
Name and shame this person, and I will see what can be done
down here to try to sort this matter out for you.
