My new large AE Nero or Flavian?
« on: January 07, 2017, 04:53:31 pm »
Hello All and hope everyone had a happy holidays season. I just bought this what I think is a asses. I don't know size or dimensions but it doesnt appear thick as a dupondius or sesteri. I'm also not decidedly made a ID with the legend in the shape its in. I looked at many coins of Nero Vespasian Titus and Domitian. If I had to pick I would say Vespasian or Titus and since I have a bead on a few contenders I didnt want to jam up the ID help section they have enough to look at and I'm sure somebody on this forum will be able to help me put a stamp on this one. Appreciate any help guys! kindly, Stephen

I'd say Vespasian.

Does anybody recognize the reverse? It may help narrow it down further. I was hoping for a Judea Capta lol.

I doubt that someone can figure out the reverse.
