The Mim has no dot ( before or after ).
The reason dots were
applied firstly to the Qur’an during Umayad time was mostly political to prevent the other groups claiming the right to take power from the Umayyads from doing so or at least they will have no religious basis to count on in their claiming , specially the revolts in
Iraq.
As you may know the sentence with no dots in Arabic can take a
complete different meaning with dots.
So they ( dots ) were not invented ( they just were not in writting form , never before Umayyads time ) , as example the letter D in Arabic Dall , with dot will be Thall ( like the English word “the”)
The person who mentioned the idea of dotting was Al-Hajjaj ibn Yusuf ( Prince of
Iraq )
who was the sword of Ab Dul Malik bin Marwan and
his son Al walid after him.
