Lucius Verus reached TR P VIIII on rare coins, so it's TR P X or higher for him that must indicate a mule.

Yes, should be ARMENIACVS, so an ancient imitation rather than a mint mule.

So I suspected it was a hybrid / imitation.
I did not need to write "mule".
And so it is interesting and will land in my little collection of hybrids.

I realize that we must apply different standards for plated coins but I always enjoyed this legend of Clodius Albinus with features of Septimius Severus and reverse of Commodus.

Hi Doug! I would only add that this reverse is like Commodus, but not entirely - if I'm not mistaken TR P XVI with Pietas/Securitas was never minted for Commodus...there was TR P XVII with Pietas/Securitas in fact... your coin is miraculously TR P XVI, not TR P XVII as it should be... so this die is not transferred, but could be cut by counterfeiters. Weird and beautiful coin at the same time)
