No. To my old eyes, it does not match perfectly. Yours has a bar starting at the lower left leg of the central A and extends upward to the left. None of the examples on the Wildwinds page linked have that feature.
I have the BCD Peloponnessos catalog, but have no access to it at the moment. When I do, I will give it a look.

your eyes notwithstanding Pete, these pictures would make anyone feel old.  :-\

to me the reverse looks more like an AP monogram than just an A.

edit;
looking at the Wildwinds link it is apparently an 'ARK' monogram, and so could very well be from the Arkadian League. this variety does not seem to be listed though, as Pete suggested.

Hi Shanxi and Pekka, yes coin posted by Shanxi seems the most similas as mine, I would even say it is the same one.

What both mean by TΛOAP, TΛAPO, TMAPO, TMOAP or MATPO?

King regards and thanks so much

A monogram is an artistic combination of letters, e.g. letters that form a city name or the name of a ruler. If you decipher the monogram correctly you are more than half way to identify the coin.

Dear Zoser:
Well, as promised, I looked through the entire BCD catalog on coins of the Peloponnessos.
So close the Megalopolis...but not quite!
I have taken the liberty of sending your images and the Naumann link to BCD and asked if he has any idea.
I will tell you what he says, if he has the time to get to it.
May all of our great members have a HAPPY and HEALTHY New Year. Nothing else matters,

Dear zoser:
Here is what BCD says, and he is the World's greatest expert on the coins of the Pelponnessos:

"I think the monogram on the reverse of this coin is a basic M with the half circle above right standing for R and a horizontal stroke above the left part of the M. This monogram has of course nothing to do with the Arcadian league coins and I therefore suggest a provenance from somewhere on or near the coast of Western Asia Minor."

So, try Western Asia Minor.
Good luck. If I happen to see something, I will post it here

Thanks to everyone who has had a look and tried to ID the coin too.

There is a city in Lydia called: TOMARIS

http://wildwinds.com/coins/greece/lydia/tomaris/t.html

However, it seems that there are no matching online
records of a coin with this monogram.

Speculation continues!

Hi folks,

I've been thinking "TOMAR..." all along. So, I'm glad that Walter wrote his post.

There is another twist. If you turn the "M" sideways, it becomes a  :GreeK_Sigma:. Just some food for thought. That opens up a whole new batch of possibilities.

Hi folks,

If you use the "T" twice, it can be "STRATO...".

I think "TOMAR..." and "STRATO..." are the 2 most likely possibilities.

Hi folks, I have had a look to Tomaris and Stratonikeia and there was no luck, I'll give up so far, maybe one day it will be clarified.

Thanks so much to everyone
