Approximate age of buttons
« on: December 28, 2016, 01:45:49 pm »
Two buttons both oblong in shape.  Bigger one is 20mm along longest axis.

Smaller one appears to be inlaid with some of the inlay missing.  Findspot is northern Italy.

Any ideas as to the approximate age?

No idea.  But might help people if you post a picture of the reverse side.

Late-medieval or more likely baroque (16-17th century) I think looking at the manufacture - the beaded edging, etc.
