Search for Otto II.

Hi Pete,

Many thanks for your answer. Unfortunately, no luck in finding the coin. I saw "OTTO" written on it, but the coins I have found for OTTO II do not match with this one.

Thanks again for your answer

Vespas,

You surely have a coin of Lucca, in Italy.  I think it is a grosso.  The obverse is the Volto Santo, or "Holy Face" and the legend should be SANTVS VVLTVS DE LVCA.  Reverse is eagle with the legend OTTO IMPERATOR ROMANO, in reference to the Holy Roman Emperor Otto granting Lucca the minting right.  Hope this helps as I could not find this exact coin in my reference books.

Thank you again for helping me with this.
The coin has 24 mm and 2.7 g. I have attached also a new photo.

All the best!
