Hope I attached the image properly. Can anyone please help to identify this coin. I've seen lots like it but not this one. Hope it's not a fake. Thanks.

It certainly appears genuine.

Justinian I, Follis (of 40 nummi), Constantinople 4th ( :Greek_Delta: ) workshop, year 16 (AD 542).

The officina is surely  :A3: and not  :Greek_Delta:.

Thanks Bill, unfortunately I am very new to all this and really have no idea what 'officina' is.

Hi George!

To find out what a term means, like officina, you can often click them. Clicking any blue text will take you to FORVM's Numiswiki page for that word. In this case though I'll save you the trouble. An officina is a workshop at a particular mint. One particular mint at say, Constantinople or Rome or Sirmium or anywhere else, had multiple workshops. The particular workshop responsible for that set of coins would mark it via symbols or other defining features.

Here is another helpful link:

You might be right Bill.  At first I thought it was  :Greek_Delta: with a blob of corrosion below but it might be  :A3:.

George, that does not change any part of the description except to say officina (workshop) 1 or 4.
