Hi
Schatz,
Thanks!
I am going about cleaning them slowly.
Some just required quick rinsing in distilled water as the dirt was superficial only. For others I am soaking them in distilled water for extended periods of time.
When I first started out, I was in a hurry to clean coins. I was reasonably proficient with a diamond dusted
dental pick under magnification. Nowadays I have so many to
work through and attribute that I am in no hurry to add more to the
work pile. Doing it the long way will hopefully yield better results.
There are some great cleaning instructions on this
discussion board.
For
Kushan coinage, if you do not already have it, I recommend picking up a copy of
SNG ANS. It is an invaluable reference. Prior to this I was using a
Kushan reference text that is several decades old and the coinindia website.
