« on: November 08, 2016, 09:24:23 am »
Hi,
i get this coin , and wonder from which country it is. I think it might be Dirham "Dang" - Jani Beg Khan - 1342-1357 AD Saray al-Jadida mint from Mongol Empire, but not sure. It is simmilar to Jani Beg but need your help guys. I have checked in Mongol coins catalog but didnt found this type. Thanks for you help !

Regards,
Damian

I can read hardly Sarai Al Jadida   ( Sarai means the place that kings or princes live in ) Al Jadida means The new.

Do you know other mints for him maybe I can compare ?
I also looked , I could not find a match.
Can you post better photos ? Maybe I can read the reverse.
Good luck

In the photo I posted the lined name is Jani  جاني

didnt now that there were  so much of them !

As i expected  Saray al Jadida is in modern Russia, where Jani Beg  was the ruler.

Things I can see

Struck in Al Sarai Al Jadida  year H 742 .  ٧٤٢

The 4 or ٤  looks different here ( Indo way best guess :)  )
by the way those numbers are not Arabic , they are Indian.
