Athenian tetradrachm. No clue other than that
« on: October 20, 2016, 12:20:26 am »
I have an Athenian owl.  I picked it up at a major coin show about a decade ago.  Not the prettiest but my first.  I truly have no idea where to start when more closely attributing it...or whether it is an ancient imitative.  I do know that it is silver and a piece on the rim flaked off revealing crystallized silver.  (Visible on the reverse at 9:00 o'clock.)

Thanks,
Nathan

Do you think it is imitative?
