A gorgeous portrait of Domitian added today.  It's a beauty in hand too!

https://www.forumancientcoins.com/gallery/displayimage.php?pos=-136077

I see several different RIC references for this coin with COS VII DES VIII P P.  It came listed as RIC II 96, I have it attributed to RIC II 26.

Very nice, Jay, from different dies than mine.

I think I have some coin from the same engraver in my collection.

Cheers

Thanks Joe I will add to BOT shortly.

Alberto I actually used yours for attribution.  I don't have the new RIC, or the old one for that matter so I rely on the dealer tags or my own detective work online.   Sometimes it works to my benefit when dealers don't catch things that make the type more sought after.  For this one I've found several different references but I can't seem to tell what the difference is between them, unless it's just old numbers.  ???

Your coin it's definitely RIC 26, since it has type "C" legend (IMP CAES DOMITIANVS AVG P M) on obverse and COS VII DES VIII P P (without TR P) on reverse.

It was #14 in the old edition.

Cheers

By the way RIC 96 was certainly wrong: its reverse would be TR POT COS VIII P P.

I have one in my collection, not in the gallery though.

I'm late to the party here, but wanted to say that Domitian is a fantastic addition. Engraved in a very fine style for the 'pulvinaria' series.

Thanks guys.  I've been slowly re-shooting some poorly photographed coins.  Here's a decent Vespasian priestly implements denarius:

"CONCORDIA" is off flan.  Any other way of knowing if this is the retrograde "N"?

Super coin Jay! One of Titus Caesar's rarer types from Antioch.

It's also a double die match with my specimen. https://www.forumancientcoins.com/gallery/displayimage.php?pos=-38375

Finally got a copy of RIC so I'm going through my Flavians and updating the references.  While doing that I'm reshooting some old coins.  The new pictures are much more "alive" than the old ones.  Here's a pretty rare Titus Judea Capta denarius, nicely centered with full legends and original find patina around the devices:

That is  really interesting Titus Judea Capta. It so happens I just bought a Titus Judea Capta 2 days ago. I will post it soon. It is a different type from yours.
