Alexandria potin tet.--who is emperor?
« on: September 29, 2016, 08:02:21 am »
 20 mm max, 6.79 g

Reverse appears to be Tyche holding rudder and cornucopia, with LG in right field.  The portraits and legend lettering on these Alexandrian coins are very difficult for me to discern--they all look pretty much alike to me!  Thanks much for any help with ID/attribution.

Diocletian, I think.

I have to agree, Diocletian with Tyche on the reverse. Issued in year 3 (Lr) of his rule.

:Greek_Delta: :Greek_Iota: :Greek_Omicron: :Greek_Kappa: :Greek_Lambda: above his head = Diocletian.  I know some of you can't quite see that, but with practice, it gets clearer.

You're absolutely right--now that I know what I'm looking for, I can see it easily!  Perceptual vigilance at work.  Thank you all.
