I agree that Jannaeus 'lepta' are nothing of the sort; I haven't looked at those of other rulers. Where a coin has a distinct type, which obviously isn't true of the Janneus star and anchor coins, which cover such a wide range of weights, there may be a better case for their being a distinct denomination. It would be worth looking at the whole area sometime.
