A hard to find Vespasian/Victory Sestertius
« on: July 09, 2016, 11:14:40 pm »
I just added this sestertius to my gallery.  It's seen better days but I still think it's a nice example of a hard to find type.

Did any other emperor mint such a wide variety of types to commemorate a victory?

I always appreciate the comments.

Enjoy,

Vespasian sure loved bragging about the Judaean victory on the coinage! A most appealing coin with a wonderful portrait!

I do not recall a nation under the Roman Empire , gave Rome a real hard time more than Hebrew nation.
They were really good horsemen and brave fighters.

On your question mostly Vespasian as David said.
A great addition again  :)

Thanks for the kind comments guys.  I don't collect many Flavians in bronze but this one really appealed to me.
