Septimius Severus, COS II, Obv. Legend errors

Amongst the COS II issue of eastern denarii of Septimius Severus come a range of coins which exhibit sets of legend errors on the obverse such as CA for CAE, SEP for SEPT, PER for PERT, AG for AVG etc. I was lucky enough to purchase another example of these oddities to add to my collection. Thisone would appear to have PEVR for PERT.

There aren't many of us who pay these issues much interest but I thought it odd enough and nice enough to warrant sharing.

Rev:– BONA SPES, Spes standing holding flower and lifting skirt.
Minted in "Emesa" according to RIC, A.D. 194-195

Rev. LIBE - R - AVG, Liberalitas standing left. From a lot of 7 coins in CNG E272 of 2012. Two others from the same die pair: Oxford and Baldwin stock.

Rev. M - ONET - AVG, Moneta standing left. Ex Kelly Collection, Spink 123, 18 Nov. 1997.

Obviously just a coincidence, by the way, that PEVR is the French word for "fear, apprehension"!
