hi all,

coin was withdrawn from auction, i can't see what is wrong here.

obv. SABINA AVGVSTA HADRIANI AVG PP,
draped bust right, wearing stephane /
rev.
Vesta seated left, holding palladium and sceptre; SC in exergue.

RIC II 1020 (Hadrian). 24.31g, 32mm, 6h.

Lightly smoothed (cleaned), Good Very Fine.

Are they all fakes?

(1) and (2) look like they may well be the same coin.

(3) is from a different rev die.

They look genuine to me too, the first coin being the same as the second, but cleaned up.

(3) is from a different obv. die too, as well as showing a different rev. type and die.

Part of the reason I suspect it is fake is that it was withdrawn. I do also think it looks like an old cast mostly because of the wavy fields. That was explained in past listings as smoothing.  Here is an image of the same coin from 30 Nov 2013 and a larger image from the 11 Jan 2013 auction.  It could be smoothing, but I remain suspicious.

Hmmm. I just found another one from an auction of 24 Oct 2014:

The lower crossbar on the seat seems to be absent on the earliest of these images alone (2).
