My collection Commodus legionary As

hello,

COMMODUS (Caesar, 166-177). As. Rome.

Obv: COMMODO CAES AVG FIL GERM SARM COS.
Draped bust right.
Rev: PRINCIPI IVVENTUTIS / S - C.
Clasped hands, in background, legionary eagle set on prow.
RIC 1549 (Marcus Aurelius).


I can hard find more information from this coin on the web.

Terrific coin.

I'm interested by "AVG FIL GERM SARM COS"

So Commodus isn't AVG himself, it's saying "son of Augustus", right?  So which of them is claiming the GERM and SARM - is it "son of Augustus the conquerer of Germans and Sarmations" or "son of Augustus, conquerer of Germans and Sarmations"?

The two victory titles apply to Commodus himself, not his father, though Marcus of course also had the same titles.
